Karjat has been gifted with many forts. These forts offer us a chance to observe skills of our ancestors, beauty of nature and allow us to add a little thrill to our life. There are many such forts in the vicinity of RKC which are ideal for a one day or two-day trek. RKC has trained guide along with the team of outdoor experts for safety of our clients.

 

Sondai is a small fort basically use as a watch tower. It is a part of a Karjat-Matheran range of Mountains. The base village Sondewadi is around 11-12 Kms from RKC.

The Kondhana Caves was located in small village of Kondhana. This cave group has 16 Buddhist caves. It is about 14Kms from RKC.

Kothaligad is a small Fort near Karjat-Murbad road in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is also known as the Fort of Peth because of its vicinity to Peth village at its base. The base village is about 28-29 Kms from RKC.

Matheran is a hill station, near Karjat in the west Indian state of Maharashtra. It’s known for its mild climate and well-preserved colonial architecture. Visitors arrive here by narrow-gauge railway on the 1907 Neral–Matheran Toy Train.

Dhak Bahiri is one of the offbeat treks in Maharashtra. Steel wires, fixed ropes have been attached, and steps have been carved in the rock for the safe climb to the caves. The base village Sandshi is about 12 Kms from RKC.

Songiri trek also known as Palasdhari trek. It takes 2 hours to 3 hours to ascend to the top. The base village Avalas is about 5-6 Kms from RKC.
